Dr. Arthur S. de Sena is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the 6G Flagship at the University of Oulu, Finland. In this role, he conducts research and supervises students on advanced topics for future communication systems. Dr. Sena serves as Work Package Leader and Project Manager for the Business Finland projects Local 6G and 6G-WISECOM. He also collaborates on impactful projects, including the European Union Hexa-X-II project and joint research initiatives with the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative at Virginia Tech, USA.
Previously, Dr. Sena was a researcher at the AI and Digital Science Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE (Nov. 2022 - May 2023). Before that, from 2019 to 2022, he was a junior researcher in the Cyber-Physical Systems Group at LUT University, Lappeenranta, Finland. He received his D.Sc. degree (with distinction) in Electrical Engineering from LUT, Finland, in 2022, and the M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Teleinformatics Engineering and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of CearĂ¡, Brazil, in 2019 and 2017, respectively. During his bachelor's studies, he studied Computer Engineering as an exchange student at the Armour College of Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA (Aug. 2014 - Dec. 2015). Dr. Sena received the Nokia Foundation Award in October 2020, the LUT Research Foundation Award in December 2020, and the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) Best Paper Award in December 2022. He has authored several peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals and flagship conferences. He serves as an Editor for IEEE Communications Letters and is a member of the IEEE Communications Society.
