D.Sc. | RAN System Developer | Editor, IEEE Communications Letters
Dr. Arthur S. de Sena is a Radio Access Network (RAN) System Developer at Ericsson in Lund, Sweden. His work focuses on studying and developing advanced features for 5G NR and 6G RAN. He has extensive experience in wireless communications, with a background rooted in cutting-edge research on next-generation wireless technologies. He has a strong publication record and technical leadership experience in numerous international collaborations involving academic and research institutions.
Prior to joining industry, Dr. Sena was a postdoctoral researcher with the 6G Flagship at the University of Oulu, Finland (2023–2026). He also served as a researcher at the AI and Digital Science Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE (2022–2023). From 2019 to 2022, he was a junior researcher in the Cyber-Physical Systems Group at LUT University, Lappeenranta, Finland. He received his D.Sc. degree (with distinction) in Electrical Engineering from LUT in 2022, and his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Teleinformatics and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil, in 2019 and 2017, respectively. During his undergraduate studies, he was an exchange student at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA.
Dr. Sena is a recipient of the Nokia Foundation Award (2020), the LUT Research Foundation Award (2020), and the IEEE GLOBECOM Best Paper Award (2022). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and conferences, serves as an Editor for IEEE Communications Letters, and is a member of the IEEE Communications Society.
