Welcome! An overview of my professional background and achievements.
Arthur S. de Sena is a researcher with the 6G Flagship at the University of Oulu, Finland. His work focuses on advanced wireless communication networks, covering system modeling, simulation, optimization, and performance analysis. He holds leadership and management roles within nationally funded initiatives in Finland and contributes to international collaborations with academic and research institutions across multiple countries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Previously, Dr. Sena was a researcher at the AI and Digital Science Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE (Nov. 2022 – May 2023). From 2019 to 2022, he was a junior researcher in the Cyber-Physical Systems Group at LUT University, Lappeenranta, Finland. He received his D.Sc. degree (with distinction) in Electrical Engineering from LUT, Finland, in 2022, and the M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Teleinformatics Engineering and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil, in 2019 and 2017, respectively. During his bachelor's studies, he was an exchange student in Computer Engineering at the Armour College of Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA (Aug. 2014 – Dec. 2015). Dr. Sena received the Nokia Foundation Award (Oct. 2020), the LUT Research Foundation Award (Dec. 2020), and the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) Best Paper Award (Dec. 2022). He has authored several peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and flagship conferences, serves as an Editor for IEEE Communications Letters, and is a member of the IEEE Communications Society.
